SUFAG builds in Grindelwald-Männlichen – Groundbreaking on May 31, 2010
 
About eight years ago, the company GGM of Grindelwald decided to make an extension of the snowmaking area in order to guarantee future snow security on the main slopes and on the whole valley run down to Grund.

Certainly that requires not only efficient snowmaking installations, but also the availability of the necessary quantity of water. For that purpose, the construction of a second storage lake with a volume of approx. 100'000 m³ was planned.

Big order from the Allgaeu / Germany

During the last years the Mountain Railways Company from Ofterschwang Gunzesried tested various products of snowmaking machines extensively and finally came to the conclusion that the company SUFAG offered the best overall concept for the extension of the snowmaking installation in Ofterschwang.

New Fully Automatic System in Czech Republic

Delegation from France visits Mayrhofen

Last week a delegation representing ski resorts in France was convinced of the impact of the snowmaking installation at the 'Penken' in Mayrhofen, Tyrol. The skiing area at the Penken is 100 % equipped with SUFAG snowmaking machines and our guests were especially enthusiastic about the quality of the slopes and the snow.

Learning to ski – on SUFAG snow
 

Nanshan is situated about 60 km south of Beijing, making it the "local recreation" skiing area of the Chinese metropolis in whose surroundings approx. 12 million people live.
According to such "Chinese" dimensions, Nanshan has had (in regard to alpine dimensions) an "unbelievable" amount of visitors the last 10 years. Each season, from the end of November until the beginning of March, about 100,000 people enjoy themselves on the 20-hectare-large slopes – on the weekends it may even be as many as 3-4 thousand winter sports enthusiasts.

Snowmaking installation for „Cross-country Center Silberhütte“

The High Performance Center Silberhütte (”Silver Lodge”) at the edge of the Bohemian Forest exists for more than 30 years. In 1976 green light was given by all involved parties for establishing the High Performance Center Silberhütte and since the political turning point in 1990 there was the possibility to make a cross-country ski run which crosses the border.

Abondance ski resort is reopening after two years with SUFAG snowmaking

Abondance is a small ski resort in Haute Savoie at the Swiss border, and is an area which is very famous for its cheese. Three years ago, Abondance had to close their slopes because they had no snow and the government did not support the ski area in building new slopes and a snowmaking system.
